Super Lexi is a warmly funny chapter book about a determined but misunderstood second-grader with sensory sensitivities. Lexi is stuck doing a solo in a school musical despite her phobias about “catchy tunes” and “staring eyeballs.” Though loving and supportive, the adults in her life don’t fully understand Lexi’s perspective. Comfortable in her own skin, Lexi doesn’t need external validation to trust herself. She knows that the solo is not for her and takes matters into her own hands.

With courage and humor, Lexi represents an often-misunderstood segment of the kid population – the introverts. While the book is likely to appeal to fans of the Clementine and Judy Moody books, it will be particularly empowering for kids with anxiety, autism spectrum disorder and/or sensory processing disorder.
